PPL is free to join and once it’s done, it’s done. You cannot collect the royalties that your performed/recorded music generates without being registered with PPL. For those that have looked at the registration process and been put off by the jargon and acronyms, then please come and get guided through it, ensuring you are ticking the right box, providing the right details.
This session is basically making sure you are accessing a key income stream that will increase as your audience grows.
About PPL:
PPL represents recording rightsholders and performers for the use of their recordings and performances. PPL Licenses recorded music for broadcast on radio, TV and certain digital media services.
PPL’s members range from session musicians and emerging artists to major record labels and globally successful performers – all of whom are entitled to be fairly paid for the use of their recorded music.
myPPL:
My PPL is a secure, user-friendly member portal, myPPL enables members to view payments, access statements, upload repertoire, and search for recordings on which they have performed. myPPL is a single platform where members with multiple roles can manage all of their PPL accounts.
Within myPPL, recording rightsholder members can actively submit repertoire through the Register Repertoire tool. Using the tool, recording rightsholders can upload recordings in bulk, register individual recordings and releases, and edit thousands of recordings at the same time.
During this session we will help you navigate myPPL, so that you know how to register your music and search for recordings you may have contributed to.
