Join us for a day of activity which will help you get off to the best of starts for the year ahead, followed by a gig in the evening. Whether you’re a regular atttendee of PROPELLER activity and meet up with our mentors regularly for advice and guidance, you’re new to PROPELLER and yet to dive in, or yet to join us – we’ve pulled a day together just for you.

We’ll be kicking things off at midday and will be going through the new season of PROPELLER programming (Jan-Apr) and giving you some inside info and tips on how you can make the most out of the programme. We’ll also be highlighting some exciting opportunities to perform at Future Yard (and beyond) and how to put yourself forward for these opportunitiesĀ  (you’ve got to be in it to win it). We’ll also be using this as an opportunity for you tell us how we can help you with your projects, creatively and strategically.

Following this we’ll be hearing from experts on some important things that will help support your upcoming activity with

  • funding your projects through the PRS Foundation’s PPL Momentum Accelerator Fund that’s available specifically for Liverpool City Region artists/bands. We are delighted to be joined by PRS Foundation’s Grants and Programmes Manager, Kwame Safo. He will providing all the information you need in order to put your best foot forward with this application.
  • looking at how to get gigs outside of our region and use them to build our audiences in other cities and towns. Weighing up useful opportunities against risky trips that are waste of your time and money. How to look for good promoters, good venues and good audiences. We’ll also be delving into showcase festivals. how to make the most of them and when is the right time to do them. We’ll be joined by Earth Agency’s Ben Haslett, Focus Wales programmer Andy Jones and our very own head booker Matthew Hogarth.

We’ve also selected a fantastic band called ARXX to headline the gig in the evening. They’re joining us from Brighton ahead of their trip to Eurosonic the following week, which is Europes biggest live showcase festival. We’ll be grabbing them after their sound check at 6pm for a Q+A about the year they’ve had touring with Pillow Queens and doing their own headline shows and how they’re preparing for their forthcoming album release.

This event takes place at Future Yard, is free to all and all attendees will get a free ticket to see ARXX in the evening. We’ll be sharing the schedule for the day with you soon.
