MUSIC NEEDED FOR SHORT FILMS ABOUT BIRKENHEAD

DEADLINE: 18/11/22

THE BRIEF:

Would you be interested in having your music featured in short films about Birkenhead?

In the coming months and years Birkenhead is set to benefit from a long term regenerative programme of improvements to the town; it’s housing, workplaces, and cultural and public spaces. We have been commissioned by Wirral Borough Council to record these schemes on video to be made into short films; partly to document what is happening and partly to help describe what the new developments will look like.

Short films use music, but rather than have chart records or commercial library music there is another option.
Local (Liverpool City Region) bands and musicians could feature their music alongside the images of Birkenhead and the Wirral, and we would pay them a fee to do so.

This is a new approach, so it will take time to develop and refine the best way forward, and it won’t appeal to everyone…

Initially bands and musicians should express their interest by emailing Cath at Future Yard – cath@futureyard.org
*PLEASE SEND A STREAMING LINK (PRIVATE/PUBLIC) TO ONE SONG, DO NOT SEND A FILE*

The film makers will also listen to local music and contact the bands and musicians.

Over time this will create a “reference library” – containing existing tracks or remixes for a more efficient process.

The first opportunity to be involved will be 18th November, so let Cath know…

We hope you find this is an interesting project.

TIP: Having an instrumental version of the track gives the producer more to work with. This is so it can be used in scenes that involve talking or commentary.
