MAKING THE MOST OUT OF SUPPORT SLOTS

In this session we’ll be discussing all the things you can do to make the most out of a support slot. From deciding an offer is a good opportunity for you as part of your own journey and accepting the spot on the bill to winning an audience over on the evening and keeping their support afterwards. Support slots can really do wonders when you’re building your fanbase.

We’ll look at the different ways you can promote the show in the lead up, exploring different assets and tools that can be used across your socials and linking to the audience of the headline band. We’ll look at key elements of your performance craft to ensure your 30 minute appearance is memorable for all the right reasons. We’ll discuss affordable merch ideas to help create more revenue alongside the nominal fee that comes with most support slots. We’ll also be looking at how we hang on to that new audience and turn them into champions of your music long after the gig has finished.

The other thing we’ll have a look at is the importance of providing advance info on your set up so that the in-house sound engineer is prepped and ready to make you sound the best you can sound.

This session is designed to be very conversational, so we encourage sharing information of what has worked for you previously, alongside some troubleshooting of why things haven’t worked and what we can learn from it for the future.
