MORE THAN JUST A LINK IN BIO: RELEASE STRATEGY FOR EMERGING ARTISTS
10/11/25 6:00 pm - 8:00 pmA practical workshop for emerging artists who want to release music with purpose — not guesswork. Learn how to build a complete independent release strategy that connects your music, content, and live shows into one cohesive campaign. We’ll cover timelines, distribution, visual assets, social media planning, and how to use your release to build momentum toward a local headline show. Whether it’s your first single or your fifth, this session will help you get strategic and create impact — turning each release into a moment that grows your audience and your career.
We will be looking at the importance of creating a community of engaged and supportive music fans and peers who will get behind your release early in order to not only help that swell of excitement in the first week or so, but also provide early information to the platforms that rely on algorithms to put your music in front of suitable ears. That first thousand streams can feel like the trickiest, so building that initial platform of support should be the first part of your strategy.
Considering a timeline of activity that gives you ample opportunity to create engaging posts on your platforms is a fantastic starting point for release strategy. We will be looking at how we can put together a string of anchor points throughout your release so you’re not looking at your socials and thinking of what to say.
This workshop will also cover how we link in our live strategy to our release strategy to create celebratory moments that bring everyone together and make the most out of performance opportunities. Our goal at Future Yard is to provide the opportunity for local/bands and artists to headline our live room when the time is right for them. We have created a favourable show budget so local acts can use their local headliners as a vital stream of revenue. The other key element is to use your live opportunities, whether that’s as a support act, on an all-dayer, or a headline, to benefit our releases and play a significant role in our ongoing strategies.
