BEING GREEN

15/07/24 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

In our day to day life we make choices that can have a positive or negative affect on the environment. A lot of it is dictated by finances, availability and effort, but it all starts with intention and becoming knowledgeable. It starts with little changes becoming part of our routine, from making better choices and sticking with it.

We are really looking forward to this session. It’ll be our first of hopefully many more. We’ve opened this session up to everyone, not just our Propeller community, so make sure to register your attendance to ensure you can join us.

This workshop will be led by Cath alongside Future Yard’s James Gillaspy. We’ll be looking at all the activities that artists and bands are involved with and looking at how we can do them in a greener way. We will try our best to cover all aspects, but it will certainly include touring, rehearsing, merch, and how we can encourage others to make greener choices, too.

One of the things that we’d like to build at Future Yard is a group of musicians that come together regularly to discuss the different elements of their activity and how we can make them more environmentally friendly, so that this can be shared with our wider Propeller community. We see this session as being the start of that.

James Gillaspy is an event manager and tour manager. He is Future Yard’s Sustainability Manager and is also the Founder of The Again Network, which was created to provide a sustainable and affordable merch solution. James accessed funding to buy a screenprinter and can be found at gigs creating merch from second clothing. If you’d like to come to a show to do merch for you, read more here.
